When do I need to book & what do I do?
It is a good idea to book as soon as possible to ensure you receive a place on the tour group as well as confirming a seat on your domestic flights and overland journeys. As it is a great time to go, planes fill easily at this time & vacancies are limited. To ensure your booking you will need to send a $600.00 booking deposit (non refundable). This deposit is non refundable as with a journey of this nature, there are a myriad of bookings and contacts for different sectors, your deposit is split & sent to confirm all your details as soon as it is received & in most cases is non refundable to us. You will then receive further details and you can call our international flight handler (or your own agent) to book your international flights. 50% of the complete balance is due by Feb’ 1st 2004 and balance due in full by Mar’ 1st 2004. Payments for international flights can be arranged directly with the agent. We also have a payments plan if monthly installments are easier for you to manage.

How do I organise my airfares?
You may elect to organise all your own flights if desired, however you will need to ensure they arrive in Kula Lumpur for you to begin studies with us at 10am on May 4th. You will also need to book a flight from KL to KK on May 7th & then back to KL from KK. Alternatively we have arranged for a group booking to be made with our flight handler. You will be given a contact person as part of the group, you can then call and quote this and will be given special prices and organisation. They will organise a flight for you to KL on the correct days and at the same time book your connecting flights to & from KK, taking all the difficulties and making it easy for you. The estimated cost for these flights is $1100. (You will be booking a direct flight to KK with a KL stop over - this is by far the cheapest way to do this). If you wish to upgrade to business class this is possible. If you are a member of a MAL frequent flyer program, please provide your members number to enable you to accrue points on all flights. If you wish to arrive early or extend your vacation you can do so at no extra cost, provided you specify the dates at this point (there is an applicable charge for changing them once issued). Depending on your variations, our handler will inform you of the full cost and you can pay them directly.
The land content price of $2689.00 is payable to the college. *NB - The college receives no commission for doing any of this work with airfares, it is simply a gift to you to assist your journey.

Will I get altitude sickness in BORNEO? Altitude sickness generally only occurs at heights above 3000 metres, as all places we are visiting are well below this, you should experience no symptoms what so ever. Should you decide to take the trek up Mt Kinabalu, it is possible you may experience some symptoms, your experienced guides will assist you to lessen this possibility.

is the food safe to eat & drink?
Naturally you can get ill from eating food in any country in the world, however all food provided to you whilst on this course is prepared in an hygenic manner and washed in sterilised water. It is therefore safe to eat anything provided including salads, fruit and even ice creams. All the food on the course is vegetarian, however should you wish to eat meat, as some dinners are at your own organisation, naturally you may order what ever you choose.

What is the climate likely to be? Warm to hot (& in some cases very hot) and fairly humid, average 22-35 degrees and some rain. You may need a light cardigan or wrap for evenings.

DO I have to carry my luggage everywhere?
In most cases we will be getting off a plane / train, collecting our luggage, taking it out to waiting transfers and it will be taken to our hotel and the porters will take it to our rooms. Hence there is very little actual carrying of luggage. However, when we depart for the Kinabatangan leg, all our luggage will need to be placed on a coach and then into small motorised boats and you may need to carry it yourself. Also these vessells have limited luggage areas. I cannot stress enough how much easier this tour will be if everyone has the smallest luggage possible. It may be an advantage to have 2 smaller bags, rather than 1 huge suitcase if possible. The lighter you can travel, definitely the easier it makes your journey, especially when packing and unpacking at different hotels. Although not necessary, it is customary to tip porters at airports and bellboys in hotels, this is at your discetion and your own expense. A folding luggage trolley that you can wheel around or luggage on wheels definitely makes your life easier. Heavy or large luggage can be a problem. As there is relatively little shopping in Borneo, you will probably not need huge cases for souveneirs.

What is the accomodation like ?
We do our very best to make your journey as comfortable & enjoyable as possible. We stay in 4 or 5 star hotels all considered the best quality for the area. When we travel up the Kinabatangan the accomodation will be basic but comfortable at the river lodge All the accomdation details are listed in the HOTELS section. All accommodation is twin share (same sex, unless requested). We will do our best to put people together that may have similar styles, interests and preferences. naturally if you wish to swap rooms with others on the course you may work this out together.

What are the people on the tour like & how many are there?
Naturally when a group of people come together there is a mix of personalities and dispositions, it is our goal to bring a group of like minded people together on this voyage in an atmosphere where we are able to feel comfortable and supported. Where we are able to take responsibility for ourselves and in turn, thoroughly enjoy and be enriched by each others histories and past experiences. We all have a common goal together to grow spiritually, to have a wonderfully enjoyable time and to develop some new skills. There will be certain people you can turn to if you need any assistance with a concern. This tour is limited to a maximum of 40 participants (including children & partners)

Will there be children on the tour & can I bring a partner &/or my children? Yes, you are most welcome to. Children are welcome on these tours, as long as they have a carer with them whilst we are studying (children may not attend study sessions). Our son joins us on these journeys with a dedicated care giver. Our past experience has been that in many cases, witnessing something for the 1st time through the eys of a child can be a wonderfully enriching experience. As the seminars are given as a gift to you, the fee for your partner will be the same and childrens prices are available on request.

Can I have a single supplement if I don’t wish to share accomodation?
Yes you may. Full details & costs of this will be available by request. Estimated cost $870.00

Is the tour physically challenging?
There are periods of walking involved and a certain degree of fitness and agility is required for you to get the most out of the experience. However the trek involved is an optional extra. At certain times there will be a reasonable amount of walking, eg - at the temples, monuments & through the jungle however this is generally not too difficult, although it can be stenuous at times. If you feel unable to achieve this, you can elect not to go up into the canopied walkways A good sensible pair of walking shoes is a must.

What clothing should I take? Comfortable, well presented clothing (preferably light weight). It is going to be very hot & humid at times and then in the Mt, quite cool at night. If you plan to hike the Mt, it gets to freezing on top & you will need appropriate clothing. It is our experience at airports and hotels that if you are a little more presentable, the stafff generally go out of their way to assist you just that little bit more. However, for the study days, feel free to wear what ever you like. You will probably be most comfortable in cool, softly breezy fabrics and sandles and it is wise to either cover up entirely or have a good insect repellant every night whilst outside, whilst dengue fever and malaria is no longer a large concern, there are some small cases and mosquito bites, aprt from that will make you immensely uncomfortable. There is a concern with sandflies at the Rasa Ria, good repellant is a must. You will need 1set of good clothes for evening dinners, some hotels (for men this is generally closed toe shoes and long pants, ladies can wear most items, thongs are not acceptable). For temple visits you will need your shoulders and knees covered and the toes and heels of your feet covered. If you do not wish to wear longs, you may carry a couple of sarongs to tie around. Towels are provided at all hotels.

What else do I need to bring? Essential list: Passport (ensure it has at least 6 months validity remaining), Travel Insurance (can be arranged at a special price by us), Manuals (this will be express posted to you prior to departure), Mini Radionic machine / Dowsing Rods / Pendulum (all can be ordered before departure if needed) pens & notebooks, camera & film, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, day pack (for water and lunch boxes), travellers cheques in US$ or A$ (AUD will often give a better rate), personal toiletries (soap, shampoo, tissues, foam bath, face washers & towels are all provided in hotels), insect repellant, swimming costume.

Optional List: expenses diary, reading material, small torch, feminine hygene products (tampons can be difficult to buy), sarong, umbrella, disposable rain coat.

What are the prerequisites?
You need to have completed an essence course, (the Renascent Gem Essence course & soon the Stellar Essence course are available on correspondence at any time from Renascent, please ensure you have completed the course well in advance to enable you to send in your assignments, have them marked and returned to you with your certificate). Although any course will do, it is imperative that you understand what an essence is, what a homoeopathic tincture is & how they differ from aromatherapy. The course covered needs to delve also into the manufacturing process. If in doubt, please speak with us. Any study you have done in natural therapies or spiritual development will be an asset to you over the course, however a background in these topics is not essential (an open mindedness is).

Do I need immunisations?
Immunisations are not required for anywhere in Malaysia. You may choose to have these if desired or discuss alternative options (eg - homoeopathics) with Daryll to enable you to make an informed choice.

What extra money will I need? All of the not included items are listed on the itinerary. Naturally you can spend a great deal if you eat lavishly and shop with wild abandon. However, in most places you could eat for $12-20 per meal (in some places, a great deal less than this, however this is a good budget). If you wish to do optional activities such as bike rides, massages, helicopter flight, etc you will need additional money for this also. You may need money for photo developing, postcards and stamps, souveniers, gifts and shopping. If at all possible allow yourself some extra spending money, the difference between saving $50 and going on a full day tour or health tretment can often make all the difference on an amazing journey.
Interestingly in most cases, the hotels we have been guided to booking for the journey, have very inexpensive eating places nearby for those on a budget. The exception to this is the Rasa Ria, where you really must eat within the resort & the prices reflect this. However, it is exceptionally beautiful & a full buffet will cost around $27.50, a la carte - cheaper or 2 minute noodles are $3, however I would strongly reccommend you budget for a bit of a treat here as it is a very special place to be.

Do I  have personal support whilst away? Whilst we expect the students to take responsibility for their own issues, emotions and feelings whilst away, you can always chat to Lesley & Daryll should you need to.If you are in need of anything we will do our best to ensure your needs are met (although you may need to let us know).

Drinking water: The hotels we will stay at will all provide drinking water for you in the room.

Do I need visas, where do I get one? No visa is required for Australian citizens in Malaysia. Other countries may need to inquire.

Power adaptors & immersion heaters: A wonderful item to take when you travel anywhere is a multi country power adaptor and a water immersion heater. With these items and some tea bags, instant coffee and coffee mate you are able to make a cup of tea or a warm drink in your room. For those times you don’t want room service or to go out. However, whilst we are on tour all rooms have tea/coffee making facilities for us to use.

Do I get certificates? You will receive a certificate upon completion for the Essence course, prior to the journey. From the tour you will receive a certificate qualifiying you as a radionics practitioner. A student card will be issued to you which may assist you to get discounts overseas and in Australia. * Please send us a passport sized photo for this

If you have any questions that are still not answered, please feel free to contact us. Pop in & have a look at some photos / brochures if you like.

How Often Do You Take Tours?

We generally organise an over seas tour every 12-18 months. The quality and extras that we offer on these journeys puts them in a class alone. However, we only offer tours when we receive a meditation / reading / feeling that it is appropriate to do so.

QUALIFICATIONS NOTE FOR ALL TOURS: On all journeys, teaching and study is a fun yet integral part of the voyage. As a result, every tour will culminate in at least 1 certificate of training.

Who Comes On These Tours?

Anyone with an open mind and the desire to look at themselves and their personal transformation is welcome. We attract people from all walks of life. The Nepal tour in 2001was enjoyed and valued so much by the participants that many of them have booked on the next 2 upcoming tours. We feel that is a good endorsement for the services and quality we offer. We like to view the tours as very special gifts to those who join us and we arrange very special events from celebratory dinners, special dances and welcome and farewell gifts all along the way.

Special tips & information:

Why is the college taking this seminar & who are we?

Daryll Mitchell is the college principal and main Seminar facilitator. Mr Mitchell conducts classes, seminars and workshops, clinic appointments and home or business Feng Shui consultations. His qualifications include: Kinesiology Practitioner & Instructor, Feng Shui & Geomancy Consultant & Instructor, Tao Initiate, Martial Artist, Qi Gong Trainer, Reiki Master Trainer, BA Natural Therapies, Author & International Lecturer. Daryll is married to Lesley Mitchell who does a large proportion of ‘behind the scenes’ work to pull everything together smoothly. Lesley is the author of 9 books and has been teaching since 1984. Her qualifications include: Kinesiology Practitioner & Instructor, Feng Shui & Geomancy Consultant, Tao Initiate, Reiki Master Trainer, Dip’ Metaphyics, Dip’ Spiritualism, Dip’ Gemmology, Herbalist & International Lecturer. Together they have a son Gabriel who travels, heals and plays with them. We feel it is part of our life path to take people on these wonderful journeys of personal unfoldment and discoveries. We have a passion for travel, teaching, healing and people and find that this work enables us to do all this at once as well as having the joy of a group of like minded people to shjare it with. We work very hard to keep prices as low as possible and are delighted with the quality of these tours on offer. Daryll & I have travelled extensively & understand the little things that make a journey so enjoyable right down to NOT being transported every where on huge tourist buses to visiting the speciality local restaurants for a meal or a sublime specialty fruit of the area. We have great contacts and as we have mutual respect by many teachers and masters we are able to share with the groups. As a tour participant you receive the wonderful benefit of all this. As we are constantly with you, we also will know if the pace needs slowing down some days (where we might all detour for an iced coffee and piece of cake) or if we are all coping well we can fit in a little extra sightseeing. We enjoy stories, laughter & personal illumination with every group and many of the tour participants have been on 1 or more tours with us in the past. From every journey we have taken we have made life long friends that we still see regularly. Hopefully this will share a little of our hearts and nature with you whilst providing information.

We feel very blessed to be able to join you on this journey and greatly look forward to another wonderful voyage.

We have been told that those who will join us on this voyage will intuitively know it is right for them to be with this group. We feel the group has already been selected to move forward in this next stage of awakening. If you are reading this itinerary and simply feeling in your heart, that this is important and appropriate for you to do, no doubt it will be. We believe that people will see a snippet of information or hear about the tour from an associate and something in their soul will urge them to make inquiries. If this is the case, you may have already been chosen to join us and we look forward to sharing with you.

With blessings Lesley & Daryll Mitchell

Who Takes the Group?

Lesley & Daryll Mitchell (as listed above) are the founders of Renascent & The International College of Intuitive Sciences both travel as the guides and teachers on every journey. Both are independent travellers from way back. Neither of them enjoyed the experience of being ‘part of the herd’ on package or organised tours and have spent much of their lives on independant travel to far off places. From this they give strongly of themselves & endeavour to make every journey personal making everything as enlightening and special as possible. (All the benefits of group travel with a minimum of the disadvantages). They realise the need for the things that make travel special - wandering the old streets, shopping in markets, sipping tea in little cafes, having massage or healings with local practitioners and endeavour to create space for all these events to take place. Lesley lived in Bali for 6 years and Daryll held an Ansett sponsorship and has deep teachings in the ancient arts of the orient. We are sure you will enjoy their experiences.

Book List & Travel Guides: In order to really get the most from your travel experience we thoroughly recommend the latest "Lonely Planet - South East Asia" book. It is a comprehensive travel guide that will allow you to read up on all the destinations to ensure you visit everything you want to - from the great wall souvenir hunting tips to what to order at the most wonderful restaurants and how to find a bargain hunters paradise tucked away in hidden alleys. If you are thinking of travelling on further after the journey it will give you everything you need to know from where to stay & how much you should pay through to getting there, sightseeing & local specialities.

We are now delighted to BE ABLE TO SUPPLY THIS BOOK TO YOU & as a special offer if you mention that you are joining us on the tour we can offer you a 10% discount on the cover price (can be posted to you if desired).

After confirmation of booking we will send you a recommended book list of titles you may be interested in. We will also be happy to provide you with places to purchase special and sacred texts whilst away for next to nothing.

Tea Houses, Cafes & Events: We have organised many special experiences during the journey should you wish to join us. Some of my favourites include the tea house, the (smelly) markets of Sandakan, the local shopping market along the beach front in KK, Hiking the Mountain (2 days) & a sunrise helicopter flight over Mt Kinabalu from KK. So many wonderful experiences to create fascinating memories.

Prerequisites: In order to join us on this tour you will need to have completed an essence course. We have "The Gem Essence Course" and "Stellar Essences" from The International College of Intuitive Sciences. These courses will shortly be available on correspondence. Please allow yourself plenty of time to complete the course, submit your test papers and have them returned with your certificate prior to departure. The reason for this prerequisite is that we will be studying essence healing, giving and receiving healings, working with cosmological mystical energies and it is imperative that all participants have at least a basic understanding of the material.

Whilst Qi Gong practice is not a prerequisite, it is strongly recommended if possible. The more background you have put into your healing studies the more you may possibly gain from the journey. However, if you cannot attend any classes prior to departure you will not be disadvantaged in any way.

Additional Studies: We are working to enable you to participate in a variety of optional studies should you desire. You may like to allow some extra time at the beginning or end of the journey to have some "time out" relaxing or travel up the Cameron Highlands or many pristine beach locations very cheaply around Malaysia.

We will also be taking you to special places in Qi Gong and Energetic / Chi healing. You have the option of having local massages, reflexology and healings (although in the resaorts these can be expensive). We will be taking you to experience as much of this wondrous culture / healers / masters / sights as possible
